HELLO! I’M TEJAS GULUR
Welcome to My Site

ABOUT ME
My Background
Hi! My name is Tejas, and I'm an avid Electrical Engineer currently working at Boeing! I graduated from Ohio State in 2023 with honors with a bachelor's in electrical engineering and minor in computer information systems.

I am an electronics enthusiast and have built custom microcontrollers, LED light drivers, and USB hubs for my daily use. I played soccer in college and continue to play whenever I get the chance and volunteer for local soccer leagues! I am also involved in FIRST Robotics as a volunteer for competitions, and I serve as one of the logistics chairs for Desi Dance Network, specifically the Legends Dance Championship Board.

I've worked at startups, research labs, and Fortune 500 companies as an electrical engineer in a variety of industries. I am extremely experienced in PCB design (KiCAD, Altium, OrCAD, EAGLE), embedded programming (all C languages, Assembly), MATLAB, and analog/digital design. I am also proficient in computer vision (OpenCV), software engineering (all C languages, Python), and data analytics (Tableau). I have limited experience and am familiar with machine learning concepts and software (TensorFlow, RNNs, Deep Reservoir Computing), as well as RF Theory and Design (FEKO).
I have led cross-functional teams in successfully achieving their goals and have experience working in Agile methodologies using Atlassian tools both as a project manager and engineer. From low-level designs to systems integration, I have experience at every level for hardware development and integration.

MY EXPERIENCE
Roles & Responsibilities
August 2023 - Present
ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, BOEING COMMERCIAL AIRPLANES (BCA)
Hardware Engineer at Boeing Commercial Airplanes (DSN) for the 777-8F program, specializing in 10-inch monitor multi-model hardware design across all airplane programs. Demonstrated end-to-end subsystem design ownership in complex LRU development. Collaborated with cross-functional teams to define and deliver hardware and software requirements, and engaged suppliers and outside resources to support program milestones. Proficient in reviewing mixed-signal designs, test setups, and qualification strategies, ensuring compliance with DO-160G and DO-254 standards. Experienced in hardware bring-up and integration with aircraft, designing for EMI/EMC, maintaining tight mechanical tolerances, and managing ship-side wiring provisions. Aided in software design using a custom Boeing Yocto image, ensuring adherence to DO-178C.
May 2022 - May 2023
ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING INTERN, PATH ROBOTICS
Annotated over 2,000 images to train a neural network capable of identifying true laser lines on reflective materials. Developed drivers for I2C and SPI devices using PSOC and C, and executed schematic entry and PCB layout for mixed-signal board designs using KiCAD. Identified and resolved inconsistencies in new PCB designs using CyUSB and PSOC, improving laser trigger precision through camera exposure, leading to a 30% cost savings. Designed and implemented test scripts in Python, C/C++, and Arduino to benchmark 10gig fiber cameras, visualizing results from ~3 million data points using Tableau and Excel, which secured a $2 million commitment to upgrade to fiber cameras. Appointed lead of a multidisciplinary intern team of three, managing goals, timelines, and meetings to successfully develop, validate, and deploy a troubleshooting guide for RTF (real-time feedback) systems, addressing twenty-four common issues. Provided weekly on-call support for RTF and SL (structured light) issues on production robots, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational continuity.
January 2023 - May 2023
GRADER, OHIO STATE ECE DEPARTMENT
Grader for 3rd year course ECE 3040 under Dr. Mahesh Illindala. Assigned, graded, and provided coursework help to students. Fully owned all assignments and exams in the class
June 2021 - August 2021
TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENGINEERING INTERN, BNSF RAILWAYS
Technology Services, Telecommunications Team. Built dashboards leveraging ServiceNow to measure metrics for Tier 1 Helpdesk such as incident count, MTTR (mean time to repair), PTC (positive train control) and CTC (centralized traffic control) incident count. Created multiple visualizations for all CI's (configuration items ex. routers, network switches, gateways) Telecom supports to monitor chronic failures and aid in repairing and replacing failing CI's. Optimized workflow for ClassOne team by building forms integrated with ServiceNow regarding Radio Dial-Up and WebAdmin access, resulting in much more accurate reporting, auditing, and faster response times.
January 2021 - August 2022
STUDENT RESEARCH ASSISTANT, CDME
Student researcher working in embedded systems for The Ohio State University. Conducted research specifically with drones and PX4 flight stack, as well as RNNs (Recurrent Neural Network) and deep reservoir computing as an SBRD Project (Supply Based Resilience and Diversification) with the Department of Defense. Project lead for drone development using aforementioned technology, building drones and implementing RNNs on the open-source PX4 flight stack. Worked on lithium-ion manufacturing research in cooperation with the Honda Motor Company, resulting in a $22 million dollar investment from Honda and the government of Ohio for the build of a level-3 battery plant on Ohio State campus, slated to be completed in 2025.
July 2020 -July 2021
